control for
citrus greening
Our first Invaio Citrus Health™ solution is now available to Florida growers
The threat to US Citrus
Citrus greening has spread through Florida since 2005, reducing citrus production by 75%¹ while more than doubling the cost of production.
The disease, caused by the Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus bacteria and spread by the Asian citrus psyllid, causes poor plant growth, early fruit drop, reduced BRIX, and reduced fruit number and size.
While Florida is the US state most affected by HLB, Texas and California are also seeing the spread of both the psyllid and the disease.
Additional factors including severe weather conditions and diseases such as scab, black spot and canker, all contribute to the threat of reduced fruit production and quality faced by citrus growers.

Citrus greening outbreaks are spreading
We are committed to tackling the spread of citrus greening while minimizing environmental impact.
Our first Invaio Citrus Health™ solution for the suppression of citrus greening in oranges has received regulatory approval from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Community Services (FDACS) under section 24(c) of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).
The solution, featuring Trecise™ application technology, is designed to deliver optimal results in the fight against citrus greening, with a treatment that is consistent and easy to manage. It is approved for use on both bearing and non-bearing trees with a diameter of 0.4 – 6 inches (1 – 15cm).
The solution uses single-tree application canisters and will be applied by licensed applicators, who provide a turn-key treatment of trees including removal and disposal of canisters.

Trecise™ Technology
Our proprietary Trecise™ technology is designed to work with a tree’s vascular system. Its minimally invasive design delivers small amounts of active ingredient directly to the tree’s vascular system. Using Trecise™, we can deliver up to 90% less active compared to conventional injection treatments in oranges, while achieving equal or better efficacy.
The Trecise™ system offers many advantages:
120-day pre-harvest interval
Provides more flexibility with a 60-day longer pre-harvest window than existing citrus injection options
Minimally-invasive application
Active ingredient goes direct to the vascular system
Suitable for young and non-bearing trees
Treats trees with a scion from 0.4 inches (1cm) diameter
Controlled dose per tree
Reduces the risk of misapplication and resulting residues
Minimal to no off-target exposure
The active goes directly into the tree, not the environment
Better for installers
With the Trecise™ EasySet device, treatments are fast, safe, and simple to apply
Because of its unique design, Trecise™ can dramatically reduce environmental and worker exposure, making it better for crops, people, and the environment.
Pre-dosed canisters deliver small amounts of active ingredient directly to the tree’s vascular system, reaching the whole tree.
The Trecise™ EasySet device ensures uniform, fast application with less risk of trunk damage and is safe for use on young trees.

Treating bacterial disease
We’ve been working together with leading Florida growers, processors and academics to tailor our technology in the groves and are grateful for their trust and collaboration.
After three years of trials in the lab and in groves, our first Citrus Health Solution™ delivers small amounts of ArborBiotic™³ – a formulation of oxytetracycline – to treat citrus greening. Because our Trecise™ technology can deliver active ingredients directly in the conductive tissues of the tree, it requires lower rates than conventional injection treatments for equivalent efficacy, substantially reducing the risks of misapplication and residues.
³ ArborBiotic™ is a trademark of MGF Scientific, Inc.
Good results bring hope to Florida growers
In bearing trees, trials of our solution have shown an average yield increase of over 30% compared to control.
Treated trees had increased BRIX content, 25% more harvestable fruit and 17% less fruit drop, compared to control.
In a Florida trial of 200 young, non-bearing trees, we observed an average 87% reduction in leaf mottle, while new flush growth increased by 64% compared to control. We also saw large increases in new growth with >12 inches across locations – showing promising signs for healthy, productive trees of the future.
WHO WE ARE
Our purpose is to accelerate a new kind of crop management that’s more sustainable for the planet.
We support farmers with more natural, efficient technologies that protect yields and the environment. With our crop health solutions, farmers can use fewer inputs per acre and get better results.
